Ingka Gropu Annual Summary and Sustainability Report FY25

The Ingka Group, the largest IKEA retailer, has published its Annual Summary and Sustainability Report for the 2025 financial year. The document confirms that strategically combining climate goals with operational efficiency is delivering measurable results. The Group’s revenue reached EUR 41.5 billion.

Against this backdrop, the Polish market is emerging as one of the leaders in IKEA’s sustainable transformation. For most of us, IKEA is primarily associated with well-designed and affordable home furnishings. However, this is only part of the story of our presence in Poland. Today, IKEA in Poland represents a powerful economic and logistics ecosystem that extends far beyond traditional retail.

From Poland, we supply 29 stores across 9 countries in Central and Eastern Europe. We are also one of the key investors in renewable energy in Poland.

The publication of the latest report is an opportunity to highlight these less obvious achievements, which enable the Polish market to outperform global averages and become an innovation hub for the entire group.

Carbon footprint – IKEA’s carbon footprint in Poland is 16% lower compared with the 2016 baseline. Achieving this target has been supported, among other initiatives, by the transformation of the menu in IKEA restaurants – 44% of meals sold are now plant-based.

Food waste – Poland is among the top five IKEA markets in reducing food waste. The average amount of food waste per transaction in Polish IKEA restaurants is 8.03 g, which is almost 40% better than the global average of 13.01 g.

Operational waste recycling – The recycling rate of operational waste in IKEA units in Poland has reached 84%. With this result, the Polish market is one of the leaders in circular efficiency across the company’s global structure.

Renewable energy – In Poland, IKEA owns 7 wind farms and 1 solar park. Last year they generated 574 GWh of energy, which is more than six times the annual energy consumption of IKEA’s entire operations in Poland.

Electromobility – Our goal in Poland is to achieve 100% home deliveries by electric vehicles (excluding parcel shipments handled by external operators). In Poznań, this share has already reached 98–99%, and in Warsaw it stands at 95%.

Social solidarity and an inclusive labour market – Last year, IKEA’s support reached nearly 1,600 people in Poland, including in-kind assistance for flood victims and cooperation with the Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę Foundation. IKEA also employed 54 refugees, while 575 people received support in accessing decent work.

Equal pay for women and men – IKEA in Poland maintains full pay equality and gender parity in management (50/50). The gender pay gap for comparable positions in Poland is just 1.29%, compared with the company’s global average of 3.4%. In the 2025 financial year, the company allocated PLN 54 million to investments in salaries and benefits.
