Saab deepens ties with Polish defence industry via agreements with WB Group and PGZ

Saab has strengthened its cooperation with the Polish defence sector by signing two agreements at the MSPO defence exhibition in Kielce on 2 September 2025. The deals, made with WB Group and PGZ Group, mark important steps in expanding strategic partnerships between Sweden and Poland across multiple domains of defence and security.
Saab and WB Group
Saab established a strategic cooperation with WB Group, a leading Polish technology company providing advanced solutions for armed forces internationally. The partnership will focus on areas such as UAV systems, naval solutions, and border protection systems, with the aim of sharing expertise and driving innovation.
“This marks another significant step in Saab’s commitment to advancing strategic defence capabilities between Poland and Sweden. Partnering with WB Group enables us to share expertise and scale up innovation to deliver cutting-edge solutions for national security,” says Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab.
Saab and PGZ
Saab also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PGZ Group, Poland’s largest defence corporation. The agreement sets the framework for cooperation in multi-domain operations across air, land, and naval systems, and includes evaluating opportunities for joint initiatives supporting Ukraine, in collaboration with the Ukrainian defence industry.
“We are pleased to have signed this agreement today, and look forward to cooperating with the PGZ Group. This is another important milestone in strengthening the collaboration between the Polish and Swedish defence industries. There is great potential for expanding the existing partnership between our nations to ensure security and stability in Europe, including the Baltic Sea region,” says Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab.
The MoU lays the groundwork for closer industrial cooperation and supports Poland’s efforts to modernise the capabilities of its Armed Forces.
