For the seventh year in a row, the World Bank ranks Denmark the best country for doing business in Europe. Worldwide, Denmark takes the third place.

Imagine you have an amazing idea and the courage to start your own business. Living in Denmark, you will have a better chance of becoming a successful entrepreneur, according to the World Bank’s ‘Ease of Doing Business Index’ 2018.

This is the seventh time, Denmark is ranked Europe’s best place for doing business. Worldwide, Denmark is number three surpassing both the United States, China and fellow Nordic countries; Sweden, Norway and Finland.

“The World Bank Index confirms that Denmark offers one of the worlds most dynamic and attractive business environments. Greater Copenhagen has innovative companies and industry clusters, a highly skilled workforce, very competitive business costs, and a famously flexible labour market”, says Claus Lønborg, CEO, Copenhagen Capacity.

Denmark #1 in trading and construction
To rank the ease of starting a business, the World Bank measures 11 areas of business regulations including the time, quality and cost of getting a building permit, transferring property and paying taxes.

In two categories, Denmark is ranked the best in the world: Trading Across Border that measures time and cost of export and import, and Dealing with Construction Permits that looks at the ease of obtaining construction permits.

Denmark also scores high in the following categories:

•     Paying Taxes (no. 8)
•     Resolving Insolvency (no. 7)
•     Registering Property (no. 11)
•     Getting electricity (no. 16)
