Sweden’s GDP increased by 1.3 percent in the second quarter of 2017, seasonally adjusted and compared with the first quarter of 2017. GDP increased by 3.1 percent, working-day adjusted and compared with the second quarter of 2016.

Household consumption expenditures grew by 0.7 percent, and general government consumption expenditures increased by 0.2 percent seasonally adjusted and compared with the previous quarter. Changes in inventories decreased GDP growth by 0.1 percentage points in the second quarter. Gross fixed capital formation increased by 2.5 percent.

Exports increased by 2.3 percent and imports increased by 1.5 percent. Market production of goods and services increased by 1.4 percent, seasonally adjusted. Production of goods rose by 2.4 percent and service-producing industries grew by 0.9 percent. Employment, measured as the total number of hours worked, increased by 0.3 percent, seasonally adjusted, and the total number of persons employed rose by 0.6 percent.
