Hanken and Aalto University have featured in Financial Times’ annual ranking of executive education programmes.

The Financial Times compared both customised executive education, meaning courses tailored to the training needs of commissioning organisations, and open-enrolment programmes, which comprise courses on specific topics regardless of the participant’s employer.

A third, combined ranking lists the top 50 schools for executive education. On this list, Hanken & SSE Executive Education was ranked 26th and Aalto University Executive Education (Aalto EE) made it to 46th position.

The Hanken & SSE Executive Education programme is a joint venture between Hanken School of Economics in Finland and the Stockholm School of Economics. Owned by the latter, it is based in Helsinki and has units in the Nordic and Baltic region. Meanwhile, Aalto EE operates in 13 countries and organises training programmes for global institutions and companies. Aalto EE took part in the comparison under the title of Aalto University, and dropped one place from last year’s FT ranking.

The top three this year included Iese Business School (Spain), IMD (Switzerland) and Harvard Business School (US).

It’s been a busy past week in the headlines for Aalto University, after it announced it has been identified as one of the world’s 55 technology challenger universities in an analysis by Times Higher Education.
