Copenhagen has the world's 6th best quality of life 29-05-2017

Copenhagen offers citizens supreme living conditions such as safety, affordable housing, easy commuting and high purchasing power, surpassed only by five other cities in the world according to Deutsche Bank.

London, New York and Hong Kong often rank high on the wish list among young global talents looking for their next career destination.

But if you want a better quality of life, you should go “Down under” or to Europe, according to a new ranking of cities by Deutsche Bank analysts.

Copenhagen ranks sixth in the global liveability ranking, surpassed only by Edinburgh, Vienna and Zurich in Europe as well as by Wellington and Melbourne.

Based on data from expats

The ranking uses data from Numbeo, a crowdsourced website that compiles data from expats on the living standards across various cities, based on factors that affect the overall quality of life:

  •     Consumer purchasing power
  •     Crime and safety
  •     Overall quality of healthcare availability
  •     General cost of consumer goods
  •     Housing affordability (property price to income ratio)
  •     Traffic congestion and commute times
  •     Pollution
  •     Regional climate likeability.

Copenhagen has a lot to offer its international citizens. The ranking by Deutsche Bank adds to the prestigious title as the world’s most liveable city awarded by Monocle Magazine in 2013 and 2014. Moreover, Copenhagen is the best city in the world in terms of developing, attracting and retaining talent, according to the Global Talent Competitiveness Index 2017. We are here to assist both talents and companies who want to make Copenhagen their next location”, says Claus Lønborg, CEO, Copenhagen Capacity.
