The most valuable brands in Nordics 23-05-2017

Brand Finance has unveiled its annual list of the most valuable brands, in the Nordics and globally.

Not only has Denmark built what is currently the world's most powerful brand -- it has 49 out of the Nordics’ 100 most valuable brands, by far the most companies per capita. Compare that with Norway and Finland's 10 companies each, despite having almost the same population numbers as Denmark.

Swedish companies are overrepresented in the very top of the table. There are eleven companies among the Top 20, diversified across sectors like finance, industry and retail. In the latter category, IKEA is the indisputable king of the Nordic region, ranking 43rd globally. H&M on second place is worth almost $20 billion, followed further down by Statoil, Lego and Telenor - all valued around seven billion.
