According to Statistics Sweden, the country's GDP increased 0.3 percent in the second quarter of 2016, seasonally adjusted and compared to the first quarter of 2016. GDP increased 3.1 percent, working-day adjusted and compared to the second quarter of 2015.
Household consumption expenditures grew by 0.4 and general government consumption expenditures increased by 0.6 percent seasonally adjusted and compared to the previous quarter. Changes in inventories increased the GDP-growth by 0.2 percentage points.
Gross fixed capital formation was stagnant. Exports decreased by 0.3 percent and imports increased by 0.3 percent. Market production of goods and services increased 0.2 percent, seasonally adjusted. Production of goods decreased by 1.6 percent and service-producing industries grew by 1.1 percent. Employment measured as the total number of hours worked increased by 0.4 percent seasonally adjusted and the number of persons employed increased by 0.6 percent.
