Mobile Connectivity Index puts Nordics in top 10 22-07-2016

A new online tool from GSMA measures the ability of more than 130 countries worldwide to connect offline citizens to the mobile Internet.

Altogether, the GSMA Mobile Connectivity Index assesses the performance of 134 countries worldwide, accounting for 95 per cent of the global population. Each country is measured across four key enablers of mobile Internet adoption: infrastructure, affordability, consumer readiness and content.

Overall, Australia, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Norway have the five highest index scores. Finland shares its ranking of seventh position with the USA. Poland took the 31st spot. At the other end of the scale, Niger is found to be most wanting.
The tool draws on data from multiple sources, including CIA World Factbook, United Nations and the World Bank.
