The positive trade balance with Finland in 2015 27-04-2016

According to data published in April by the Ministry of Development, for the second time in a row we have achieved a positive trade balance with Finland in the amount of EUR 6 million

In 2015. our exports to Finland amounted to 1 413 million, a decrease of 4% compared to 2014, while imports from Finland decreased by 3% and reached EUR 1 407 million.
Once the second year in a row we have achieved a positive balance of trade with Finland in the amount of EUR 6 million.
The reason for a decrease in our exports to Finland was a general decline in the Finnish total imports by 6% mainly due to the difficult economic situation, which had a direct negative impact on the Finnish industrial production.
In our exports to Finland in terms of value dominated the following sections according to SITC:
hides and skins,
• ore and scrap,
• medical and pharmaceutical products,
• specialist equipment for industry,
• general industrial equipment,• equipment, machinery and electrical equipment.

In turn, imports of major items of value were:
• pulp and paper,
• plastics,
• paper, cardboard,
• iron and steel,
• equipment, machinery and electrical equipment,
• specialist equipment for industry.

The share of imports from Poland accounted 2. 6% of Finnish total imports, while Finnish export to Poland amounted to 2. 6% of total exports of Finland.
