Denmark's reduced appetite for wasting food 5-02-2016

In just the past five years, Danes have reduced their total food waste by more than 25%, according to a recent study by the Danish Agriculture & Food Council. In economic terms, the reduction of food waste between 2010 and 2015 corresponds to a value of DKK 4.4 billion (approx. €590m) annually.
The study finds that the reduction can be attributed to increased awareness about food waste in the population and declining consumption due to the international financial crisis.
