GEDI Institute: Denmark is the best country in Europe for entrepreneurs 13-01-2016

Denmark takes a first place in Europe on the Global Entrepreneurship Index 2016, ranking top on factors such as ease of doing business, human capital, competition and product innovation.

The Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEI) 2016 ranks Denmark as Europe’s leading entrepreneurial economy and fourth in the world, only surpassed by USA, Canada and Australia.

In the report, Denmark leads the Entrepreneurial Abilities sub-index, ranking top on the pillars opportunity start-up, technology absorption, and competition as well as human capital. These reflect the ease of doing business, the country’s use of new technology, the competitive landscape, and the educational and professional level of the workforce.

Denmark is moreover praised for its product innovations and risk capital.

The purpose of the GEI is to measure the quality and scale of the entrepreneurial process in 130 countries around the world.

The index does not focus exclusively on high-growth entrepreneurship; it also considers the characteristics of entrepreneurship that enhance productivity: innovation, market expansion, being growth-oriented, and having an international outlook.
