Women in Scandinavia were ranked high in a global study of female economic power.
A global study of female economic power by the University of Cambridge Judge Business School has ranked Norwegian women in second, Danish in third and Finnish women in fourth position.
Conducted between 2004 and 2013, the study looked at over 1,000 companies from the Forbes Global 2000 list, representing 51 industries in 41 countries across six continents.
The study looked at the various factors influencing and impeding the rise of women to the top and also their longevity in boardrooms. These included the average number of years a woman can expect to be in education and their presence in the workforce.
The study found that the level of female economic power directly reflected the number of women on boards and their length of tenure in each country.
