Record year for Copenhagen 20-03-2015

With 9 million commercial room nights and 25, 6 million airport passengers, 2014 was a record-breaking year for Copenhagen - both in terms of room nights and airport traffic. And the tourism to the capital continues to grow.

The tourism to Copenhagen has experienced a growth of six percent in 2014 and approximately half a million more room nights compared to the year before, and a total growth of 40 per cent during the past five years.

9 million commercial room nights reveal that Copenhagen is an increasingly sought after tourist destination – not least for international tourists, whose room night count increased with 10 per cent.

Copenhagen Airport, the largest of its kind in the Nordic region, set a new passenger record in 2014 for the fourth consecutive year with more than 25 million passengers. The record number reflects a growth of 6, 5 per cent or 1.560.063 passengers compared to 2013.

The majority of tourists come from Norway, Sweden, Germany and the UK, but there has also been growth in tourism from Spain, France and Italy.
