Finland’s, Sweden's and Denmark's exports rank top in quality in EU 1-10-2014

Finland’s export industry has been ranked number one in quality in a comparison carried out by the European Commission.

According to a recent comparison published by the European Commission, the quality of Finland’s export products is the highest among the EU countries. The second highest ranking country in terms of quality is Sweden with Denmark’s export industry coming in at number three.

The quality of the EU countries’ export industry is analysed in the comparison using a set of indicators developed by the European Commission. The quality of the countries’ export industries and changes to it were examined between 2007 and 2011.

According to the Commission, Finland’s ranking is not explained by just one company; the products of a number of different industries achieved a high position in the comparison. The report declares that the quality of Finland’s, Sweden’s and Denmark’s export industries has not suffered a great deal as a result of the 2008 financial crisis.

The report points out, however, that the market share of Finnish products in the EU markets is not particularly high.
