In Norway only in August the cards  was used 138,300,000 times. This is an increase of 6.5 percent compared with the same month last year. 

In August, there was a million more card purchases than the old short record, which was set as recently as July this year.

So far this year it carried more than one billion card purchases, according to new figures from Nets and Financial Norway.
