Skanska Property Poland: invests again in Wrocław

25-10-2011

Skanska Property Poland, developer of green office buildings, which has been linked to Wrocław by several investments, has acquired the right of perpetual usufruct of a plot of land located at Dominikański Square.

The plot is situated in one of the most prestigious areas of the city. “Central location, easy access to public transport, proximity to hotels, shopping and service facilities, make it an extremely attractive place for potential tenants of office space,” said Waldemar Olbryk, President of Skanska Property Poland.

The location is also subject to special interest of the owner of the land – the city of WrocĹ‚aw. It is a strategic point in the city’s landscape and one of the last plots of land in this area destined for construction. The city wanted to initiate the investment as soon as possible, and therefore, on the basis of the agreed conditions, a reasonable compromise concerning the new time frame for the construction works on the property was reached. When deciding about the time schedule, the city took into account the time needed for preparation of the investment and design works.

The latest investment of Skanska Property Poland in Wrocław will be located in the area of streets: Wierzbowa, Piotra Skargi and Kazimierza Wilekiego. The total area of the plot of land, to which the developer acquired the right of perpetual usufruct from a private owner in September 2011, amounts to 9,502 m2.

„We are planning to develop an office building including a service and retail area,” said Bartosz Kalinowski, Project Manager at Skanska Property Poland. „Design works will start immediately, in line with the Local Area Development Plan and the architectural project will be discussed with the City Architect,” added Mr Kalinowski.

So far Skanska Property Poland has erected the Grunwaldzki Center office building, located at the Reagan Roundabout in Wrocław, and in March 2012 phase I of the Green Towers office complex, built according to the principles of sustainable development, is to be completed. Other investments carried out by Skanska Property Poland in Wrocław include phase II of the Green Towers complex, where construction works are already underway, and the Green Day project, which is to be launched in the first half of 2012.
