Novo Nordisk: Changing Diabetes Forum in Warsaw

The Polish Changing Diabetes Forum is certainly one of the more important events concerning public health. Next edition of the Forum organized by Novo Nordisk will be held on 6th of September in Warsaw.

The Polish Changing Diabetes Forum is certainly one of the more important events concerning public health. Its task is to draw attention to diabetes being one of the most significant challenges with regard to non-infectious dis¬eases faced by Poland, and inspire people to take part in an open discussion about the need and plans of action to achieve change in the treatment of diabetes in Poland. The purpose of this initiative is a debate on diabetes, involv¬ing patient organisations, expert bodies, the private sector, and non-governmental and international organisations.
During the Polish Changing Diabetes Forum i n Warsaw, representatives of  key Polish and foreign organisa¬tions, institutions and associations meet in one place. During the first session, foreign speakers will share their experiences with diabetes management solutions and plans implemented in their countries in various contexts: prevention, early detection and monitoring. During the second session, the latest reports will be presented on the situation of diabetes in Poland, the status of actions and solutions implemented in combating diabetes, and then the participants will collectively consider the optimum action plan for the future.

The forum will be attended by eminent and Polish and European experts in diabetes care, including: John Bowis, Former British Minister of Health from the UK, former member of the European Parliament and co-author of the EU Declaration on Diabetes, Prof. Philippe A. Halban, Chairman of EURADIA (Alliance for European Diabetes Research), Coordinator of the DIAMAP Project, Chair of the European Coalition for Diabetes (ECD),Dr Markku Saraheimo, International Diabetes Federation, Senior Consultant of Internal Medicine, Helsinki City Hospital, Helsinki University, Helsinki University Hospital, Finland, Prof. Leszek Czupryniak President of the Polish Diabetes Association, Dr Paulina MiĹ›kiewicz Director of the World Health Organisation’s Office in Poland., Prof. Krzysztof Strojek Board of the Polish Diabetes Association , national consultant for diabetes.
