“Rzeczpospolita” newspaper awarded the best financial institutions for the 9th time. Nordea Bank Polska is the winner in “commercial banks” category.

The best financial insitutions of 2010 have been chosen among 8 different branches of financial market – commercial banks, cooperative banks, pension funds companies, leasing companies, investment funds companies, brokerage houses, property and life insurance agencies. The ranking, conducted for the 9th time, has always the same criteria of assessment, which helps in analyzing the standing of financial sector annually and gives good basis to compare the level of development of certain companies on the market. 500 financial institutions answered the questionnaire which had been send by "Rzeczpospolita". This fact shows how important and prestigious is this comparison for this market.
Nordea Bank Polska is the winner in "commercial banks" category. High dynamic growth and a significant increase of total assets were the two main factors which decided about placing Nordea at the top of the ranking.  In 2010 Nordea reported a net profit of PLN 259,3 mln. This amount is 80% higher than the 2009 result. Total assets increased for about 21.6% in the same period. 
Excluding financial results, dynamics and a structure of credits and deposits and profitability counted by return on capital and assets were also taken into consideration. In those categories Nordea bank had also very good results. This bank is for years in top of ranking of companies that grant mortgage credits. Return on assets amounted 1.15% that is 0.35% more than last year. Worth mentioning is a dynamic development of bank branches. In 2010 Nordea opened 45 new branches and in the first quarter of 2011 next two.
