Thanks to Fortum, new heating benches designed by Sokka Studio, appeared on the streets of Wroclaw.

Young designers have created a project of a heating bench, which will promote modern design in a WrocÅ‚aw. At the same time, thanks to its heating function, directly referring to the  Fortum's motto: "We give you the warmth", the bench is to serve inhabitants of the city in winter. The designers took great care to design benches, which combine aesthetics with functionality, with particular emphasis on materials and technologies that have minimal impact on the environment.

Fortum benches were made of 100% recyclable aluminium and they are illuminated by energy efficient LED lights. In addition, the constructors installed special drivers inside the bench - the drivers will control the functions of heating and lighting depending on temperature and time of day and thus optimize energy consumption.
The temperature of the bench during the winter, will be maintained at around 10 ËšC.
"Fortum is oriented on the future and focuses on ecological and energy efficient sollutions. Designing the heating benches for Fortum was a great opportunity for us to use our experience and combine an innovative form with new functionality "- says Katarzyna Sokolowska from Sokka.

Of the ten proposed locations, Wroclaw chose five, which they believe required heat. This is another project with Fortum to involve local communities to draw attention to the rational management of warmth and energy. "We will initiate actions that on the one hand are consistent with our strategy of sustainable development and on the other hand give the opportunity to implement exciting and innovative projects. We hope that the heating benches will stay for longer in the landscape of Wroclaw - says Isabelle Van den Bossche, Communications Director, Fortum Power and Heat Poland.
Fortum was the organizer of a similar action in Stockholm "Let's illuminate Stockholm" - the inhabitants of Stockholm had chosen the darkest places in the city, which were later illuminated thanks to Fortum.
