In 2011, Ikea will be celebrating its 50 years anniversary of cooperation with Poland. In January 1961, in a furniture factory in Radom the first order for the production of chairs for Ikea was placed.

"Ikea was founded in Poland" - said Ingvar Kamprad during the opening of a new exposition dedicated to history and values of Ikea, in Almhult, in autumn 2010. Although the character of the company was shaped by its Swedish roots and culture, it's connection with Poland is still an important part of Ikea. Swedish style became popular among Poles very quickly. Founder of Ikea,always stresses its strong relationship with Poland, which he visits regularly and he is interested in how Poles are living, how are we going and it is not connected only with his business here.

Those 50 years is a perfect base for further cooperation, and involvement in the development of close relationships linking IKEA and Poland.
Ikea invites all the Poles to celebrate the 50 years anniversary of Ikea's relationship with Poland during whole 2011. There will be plenty of suprises prepared for this occassion. The first is to cover the cost of VAT increase.
