Piotr Iwo Chmielewski, through family succession, has assumed the role of CEO of Rohlig SUUS Logistics, the largest Polish logistics operator. He succeeded his father, Tadeusz Chmielewski, who is moving to the Supervisory Board. This change is part of a long-term succession plan aimed at ensuring the continuity of operations and further development of the company.
Piotr Iwo Chmielewski has been associated with SUUS since 2017. For the past four years, he has been a Member of the Management Board, where he was responsible for strategy, sustainable development, technology and digitalization, as well as sales, marketing, and communications. He was involved in working on the company's business strategy, the international expansion process, and the development and implementation of innovative technological solutions related to the supply chain. He also oversaw the preparation and implementation of the first ESG strategy for a Polish operator. Prior to joining SUUS, he gained experience in consulting for several years. He advised numerous companies in Europe on strategy, sales, and marketing investments in the FMCG, retail, finance, energy, and private equity sectors.
"SUUS has been a part of my life since birth, as we are practically the same age. Throughout my life, I have had the privilege of observing the company's dynamic growth - first through the eyes of a child, then a teenager, and also an adult. I am pleased that for the past seven years, including the last four as a Board Member, I have been part of this organization. Today, I have the honor and pleasure of assuming the role of Chairman of the Board through family succession. It is a great challenge to succeed my mentor and father, so I am glad that I will still be able to benefit from his knowledge and experience as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board," says Piotr Iwo Chmielewski, CEO of Rohlig SUUS Logistics.
"The finalization of the succession is also accompanied by the start of work on a new business strategy. Our objective is to be the leader in the entire region and, as a result, be the first choice for our employees, customers, and transport partners. The geopolitical and economic conditions in which the logistics industry currently operates require an updated approach. Therefore, strategically, we are focusing on business efficiency and sustainable development. The foundation of our organization - our culture and values - remains unchanged. We will continue to be One Step Ahead in our activities. We will consistently build a company that shines as an example, not only as a integrated logistics operator but also as a model of high-quality management standards, based on people, technology, and respect for the external world," states Piotr Iwo Chmielewski.
"Our company has been present in the market since 1990. During this time, we have traveled a long and incredible journey. We have grown from a small enterprise to a significant player in the Central and Eastern Europe. Our industry continually faces new challenges - technological, geopolitical, and those related to sustainable development. Despite the very turbulent last few years, we continuously develop, conquering new markets, improving competencies, and investing in geographical expansion. My eldest son, Piotr, has been with us for 7 years. After 4 years on the board of our company, the time has come for me to hand over the responsibilities of CEO to him. For approximately two years, he has largely been fulfilling this role, and this decision marks the culmination of a long-term process. I am confident that Piotr possesses the necessary competencies to lead the organizator into the next, already initiated stage of regional development," says Tadeusz Chmielewski, founder and former CEO of Rohlig SUUS Logistics.
Tadeusz Chmielewski will continue to provide operational support to the company. He has transitioned to the Supervisory Board, where he currently serves as Chairman. His new role will entail providing support to the operator's sales and international expansion efforts, as well as the development of other entities within the SUUS Capital Group.
