KPMG: Ensuring security in The Cloud as a challenge for companies

5-02-2021

COVID-19 has dramatically accelerated the pace of digitization of enterprises. One of the most important elements of this process is the migration to cloud computing, and along with the development of technology and advancement of cloud solutions, the efforts of hackers developing new ways of stealing sensitive data are also increasing. Managing the security area of cloud solutions in companies is a big challenge, and sophisticated cyber attacks can be very painful and costly for the organization.

The new reality and dynamics of changes in the use of cloud technologies require IT departments and security teams to go beyond the traditional approach to effectively manage the security area and protect key business assets. Unfortunately, awareness in this regard is still relatively low, as evidenced by the fact that as many as 62% of companies in Poland surveyed by KPMG do not even know in which model they use the cloud. Meanwhile, cloud solutions will be implemented on an increasing scale. The announcement of the KNF Office of January 23, 2020, which opened the way to cloud solutions for controlled entities from the financial sector, may also contribute to this.
