Volvo Polska Sp. z o.o.: Electric buses will be transported from Wrocław to Bodö in Norway

15-09-2020

Volvo will deliver city electric buses from its WrocÅ‚aw factory to the world's northernmost electric bus operator. The city of Bodö, located in the far north of Norway - beyond the Arctic Circle, has placed an order for a comprehensive package of 31 electric buses as well as charging and servicing infrastructure. The vehicles will start carrying passengers in July 2021. They will be electric buses operating in the world's northernmost area and the first to enter service beyond the Arctic Circle.

The transition to a quiet place and emission-free buses will improve the environment and to a great extent Bodö's public transport on the climate. It is also an important step towards achieving ambitious climate goals, which include, among other things, that all city buses in the country will run emission-free by 2025.

Other Norwegian cities that, like Bodö, have recently choosen Volvo Buses' electrification solution for public transport are Drammen and Ålesund. Volvo has received orders for 63 electrified buses from Norway this year.
