Volvo Polska has signed a contract with MPK Kraków for the supply of articulated hybrid buses - the residents of Kraków will be able to travel in ecological buses from this company for seven months, produced entirely in Poland.

As part of the contract signed with the Kraków city communication company, Volvo will provide 12 hybrid, articulated Volvo 7900 Hybrid city buses. All will be produced in Poland, at the Volvo factory in WrocÅ‚aw.

Buses will accommodate 136 passengers, including 43 seats. They will have facilities such as air conditioning, video monitoring of the interior and external environment, a modern voice announcement system and visual passenger information as well as a ticket machine servicing cash and non-cash transactions. The passenger area will be equipped with USB ports for charging batteries of phones, tablets and other mobile devices.

Buses will be fully friendly for people with disabilities through the use of a wheelchair entrance platform, buses will also have a "kneeling" function. Buttons in vehicles marked with Braille inscriptions and convex pictograms will enable people with sight dysfunctions. Vertical rails and bus door entrance thresholds will be equipped with special LED lighting.
