Goleniowski Park Przemysłowy: Fashion company invests in Goleniów

21-09-2017

The global fashion company BESTSELLER is going to build its European E-commerce fulfilment centre in the Goleniów Industrial Park. 120,000 m2 warehouse space and a three-level office and staff facility are in the pipeline.

Apart from the warehouse facilities, the project will include a 1,000 m2 photo studio, a technology support department, a training academy, a canteen and showroom facilities.

The Goleniów-based fulfilment centre will provide services to customers in 15 countries in Europe. By 2020, BESTSELLER expects to be employing 1,000 people in Goleniów, and by 2025, the number of employees is projected to be 1,600 including warehouse workers, office and technical personnel, photographers, managers and team leaders.

We continue to see strong consumer demand, and the new E-commerce fulfilment centre will provide the needed capacity for the future. We are looking forward to becoming part of Goleniów Industrial Park, and are working closely together with the local municipality and regional authorities, to establish a unique working space, reflecting our trust in people, our company values and our fashion background, says Michael Fynboe, Head of E-commerce Operations at BESTSELLER.

BESTSELLER acquired the land in June, and the groundwork has already begun. The construction phase is expected to commence in autumn 2017, and the preliminary plan includes fitting of inventory in spring 2019 and start-up of operation at full capacity in summer 2019.

Local impact

It is the largest and one of the most interesting investment projects in Goleniów in recent years. Talks with BESTSELLER has been ongoing since autumn last year, and during that time, representatives from BESTSELLER has visited Goleniów many times, says Robert Krupowicz, the Mayor of Goleniów.

A significant role in attracting the investor to our municipality was played by the Goleniów based eBusiness Cluster of West Pomerania which includes the Municipality of Goleniów as a supporting member. We had to compete for BESTSELLER not only with Stargard and Gardno, but also with locations in Germany, Robert Krupowicz adds.

BESTSELLER’s investment is a huge boost to the region as it not only covers two of our intelligent specializations, namely logistics and services of the future, but also creates quality jobs and work conditions, which may set a new standard for other employers, adds Olgierd Geblewicz, the Marshal of the Westpomeranian Region.
