Clean Up the World” Campaign was launched!

A very important part of the Responsible Business Program is care for the environment. Hotel chains from all over the world participate in the worldwide environmental Hotel Environment Action Month (HEAM) campaign. The program was initiated by International Hotel Environment Initiative (IHEI), and its goal is to increase the environmental and social awareness of the employees and guests. Naturally, Polish Radisson SAS hotels participate in this campaign every year.

Here is the agenda of our activities planned for this year.

Wrocław

On September 16, 2006 Radisson SAS WrocÅ‚aw Hotel planned to organise “Clean Up the World” campaign in its neighbourhood, including the charming park and the bank of Odra river. This time the employees decided to focus on their closest surroundings, visited by the people of WrocÅ‚aw in their free time. The employees themselves cross the park everyday on their way to work.

 As every year, they invited the children from the Children’s Home in KÄ…ty WrocÅ‚awskie to join their campaign. The hotel cooperates with this Children’s Home from the first days of its operation. The logistic part of the campaign is taken care of by a cleaning/maintenance company from WrocÅ‚aw, that responded to the appeal of the hotel and will facilitate the organisation of the endeavour. The support is also granted from the Rotary Club, that is going to provide transportation for the children.

At the end of the day all those committed to protect the environment will be hosted at the hotel’s courtyard with a tasty barbecue.

We have also prepared an artistic competition for the youngsters. It is connected with the “Clean Up the World” theme and will be awarded with the prize by the Director of the hotel. The children will also be invited to visit the interiors of the hotel and taste their favourite sweets later in Aquarelle Restaurant.

Kraków

 The employees of Radisson SAS Hotel in Kraków are going to visit Jan Brzechwa Children’s Home located at Pod Kopcem Avenue in Kraków. Together with the children they are going to clean the garden and hand over the school equipment, cosmetics and toiletries as well as food for the children. A small outdoor party is also in the schedule.

Szczecin

 On 20 September, within “Clean Up the World” campaign, the employees of Radisson SAS Hotel in Szczecin will clean the city forests on the right bank of Odra river. They anticipate that the students from a nearby environmental secondary school will join their campaign. On this occasion the forest guard will prepare an educational program and numerous competitions for the students. The day will close with the bonfire and roasted sausages.

Warszawa

This year on 17 September, Radisson SAS Centrum Hotel in Warsaw will actively participate in the organisation of the meeting summarizing the National Final of “Clean Up the World 2006” campaign and the 1st Warsaw Recycling Days. The meeting will be held in a green surroundings of Pola Mokotowskie (Mokotów Green).

On this occasion, Radisson SAS Centrum Hotel in Warsaw will sponsor a huge, 10-kilogram cake designed and prepared by Mr Dariusz Zahorański, the Head Chef of the Hotel and a snack for the guests.

 Moreover, throughout the whole month the guests of all hotels in the chain will be informed about the activities connected with Responsible Business program. The information campaign includes specially designed posters with pictograms (beware of the global warming, charity actions, health food, etc.). The guests will be able to find the information in the elevators, inserts for the room keys and on the leaflets.
