In October the Medicover Group have secured 2.5h of land next to their existing Hospital located in Rzeczpospolita Street in the Wilanow district of Warsaw and obtained a building permit that enables them to further expand the 180 bed facility.

The investment made by the owners of Medicover, is part of a long-term development strategy for the medical services market in Poland.

“This is an exciting phase of our development, some 6 years ago the first phase of our hospital activities in Warsaw was completed and this enables us to develop further activities on the same site" - says Marcin Łukasiewicz, Medicover Director of Investment and Development. “We have big plans to develop our hospital and other related health services that will be easily accessible to even more people in Warsaw when the bypass at Przyczółkowa Street is completed”  - adds Marcin Łukasiewicz.

Medicover Hospital
A crowning achievement of Medicover development is the construction of the Hospital located in the Wilanów district of Warsaw. It was opened in 2009. The hospital with a surface area of 16,000 square metres is a EUR 40m worth of investment. The hospital building is equipped with the most advanced solutions characteristic of the most modern medical facilities. Air-conditioning, laminar flow units in the operating theatres, separate communication paths for patients and visitors as well as separate halls and elevators for patients directly after surgery – all this guarantees the maximum sterility and hygiene of hospital. In the Medicover Hospital, there are 7 departments and two specialist centres: Diagnostic Centre and Consulting Centre as well as a restaurant, pharmacy, newsagent and a hotel. Since 2011, the Medicover Hospital has been cooperating with the National Health Fund. Within the scope of the contract with the Fund, we provide certain hospital services to patients covered by public health insurance.

From the academic year 2011/2012, together with the Józef Piłsudski University of Physical Education in Warsaw Medicover Hospital have been in charge of full-time and undergraduate nursing studies „Nursing AWF – Medicover. European Standards of Profession”.
