2 tons of recycled material, more than 1.5 tonnes less CO2 to the environment, hundreds of seedlings distributed – those are the effects of the Huge Waste Collection organized by the Park Handlowy Franowo in PoznaÅ„.

Posnanians maintained their opinion of being good hosts and showed that during taking care of their homes they can also take care of the environment – they gave Stena Recycling away their wastes and received seedlings in exchange. The company specializes in the effective recovery of raw materials.

The initiator of ecowaste exchange at October 11th was Park Handlowy Franowo and its contractor was Stena Recycling. Posnanians cleared its nearest surroundings of 1.5 tonnes electrowaste, half a tonne of waste paper, PET bottles, aluminium cans and glass packaging. These orders allowed coming back into circulation waste, and thus preventing the emission of more than 1.5 tonnes of CO2 into the environment and save 7 trees.

Swedish roots and Scandinavian approach to recycling – the use of innovative solutions and striving to maximize the amount of recovered materials – combine Stena Recycling with IKEA. Annually, the company processes in Poland up to 700,000 tonnes of waste. This prevents the emission of more than one million tons of CO2, while protecting forests, water and recovering valuable natural resources, including critical elements, without which the industry cannot do.

Collected during the Huge Waste Collection items will be among others the source of glass, plastic, aluminium, copper, lead, PET regrind and recycled paper.
The aim of the collection was to make easier for inhabitants to get rid of electrowaste, which cannot be thrown into the backyard container. IKEA for years attaches great importance to the ecology and recycling, and proposes a number of solutions to facilitate proper sorting of waste at home.

There were a lot of nice surprises during the event – it was possible to get the gadgets prepared by Park Handlowy Franowo and IKEA store. Stena Recycling has prepared environmental competitions for children. There were also young candidates to work in the company – especially behind the wheel of a truck. Guests were also attracted by cars for scrapping, one of which has already been pressed into cube. Experts talked about what happens to the car in a professional vehicle in dismantling station STENA AutoZÅ‚om and the importance of environmentally responsible recycling. Drivers also convinced that scrapping the car does not have to involve burdensome administrative matters – AutoZÅ‚om assumes all formal issues, leaving time to choose the most ecological vehicle.
