Foundation stone ceremony was held in June at new logistics center in Krefeld, Germany. An impressive and modern transport and logistics complex will be finished in summer 2015.

DSV celebrated the start of the construction of a complex that will cover 168,000 square meters and house around 600 employees when completed. 50,000 square meters will be dedicated to logistics and storage space and 12,500 square meters will be developed for a cross-docking terminal with an option to expand by 5,000 square meters. The office building will have 7,000 square meters.

The commercial property is being developed according to modern standards for energy efficiency and sustainability. The aim is to obtain the DGNB Certificate Silver where a pre-certification has already been granted. The new property complex offers optimal conditions for our new central location in North Rhine-Westphalia in the Western part of Germany. The location is well connected in terms of infrastructure and not far from the Dusseldorf International Airport – says Harald Schefft, Managing Director, DSV Solutions GmbH. In the future, multiple locations of DSV will be merged on site. This includes locations for air, sea, road and of course, logistics and warehousing. Our shared service centre in Willich will also be a part of the property complex.

New logistics center is located 410 km from Hamburg, 370 km form Bremerhaven and 225 km from Rotterdam. Nearest airport in Dusseldorf is only 20 km apart and airports is Koln and Frakfurt are 80 and 245 km apart from the new location.
