SwedeCenter is starting the construction process related to the project called Gdynia Waterfront at Nabrzeże Prezydenta in Gdynia.

PORR (Polska) is the general contractor of the first phase of the project. The final completion of the construction works is planned for the middle of 2015.

Gdynia Waterfront is a multi-functional project which will feature commercial and residential space as well cultural and leisure facilities. The total area of the complex to be located on the plot of 3.6 ha near Kościuszki Square in Gdynia will amount to approx. 90,000 square meters.
First of all, the space between the Gemini Center and the Sea Towers, in the direct vicinity of the President’s Bay, will be developed. An office building and a Marriott Courtyard Hotel, will be constructed there.

The planned office building is an 11-storey building with retail space. The building will feature 11,500 square meters of modern office space and at the groundfloor, along the pedestrian walkway linking Aleja Jana Pawła with Sea Towers, coffee shops and restaurants will be opened. The project was designed in line with sustainable development principles, and the environmentally friendly solutions to be used here meet the LEED certification requirements.

The Marriott Courtyard Hotel to be operated by Scandinavian Hospitality Management AS, will provide business clients with all necessary services and at the same it will offer a wide range of amenities and the utmost comfort. The hotel will comprise 201 rooms and a conference center with an area of 650 square meters. At the groundfloor of this 9-storey building there will be a restaurant with a direct view over the President’s Bay.

The complex will be built in the undoubtedly best known and most representative point in Gdynia. Due to this fact, we paid a lot of attention to the suitable arrangement of the public spaces and took advantage of the fact that the location is close to water. I am convinced that the residents of Gdynia will like the project.”

The author of the design is FORT architect studio based in Gdańsk, which was appointed as a result of the competition for the best architectural design concept for the first stage of Gdynia Waterfront. PORR Polska became the general contractor of the first stage of the project.
