White & Case was named 'Law Firm of the Year 2013' in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region at the Chambers European Awards for Excellence, held in London on April 25, 2013.

The awards recognise outstanding law firms, reflecting both pre-eminence and notable achievements over the past 12 months, including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service.

It is the second time the Firm has been recognised in the region having previously received the award in 2010. It is also the fourth year in a row that White & Case has picked up an award at the ceremony having been named 'International Law Firm of the Year' in the Czech Republic in 2011 and 'International Law Firm of the Year in France' last year.

In giving the award, Chambers noted: "White & Case was one of the first international firms to enter the CEE market, and wins plaudits for its experience and its breadth and depth of practice. The firm has strong operations in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Slovakia and Romania, and is singled out for its corporate/M&A and projects and energy expertise."

Highlight work from the region includes advising PPF Group on its EUR2.5 billion sale of a 49% stake in Generali PPF Holding to Generali, and acting for a consortium of banks led by UniCredit on a EUR1 billion financing of EP Energy.
