Turku and Tallin - these are two European Capitals of Culture in 2011.

The main theme for Turku’s year as the European Capital of Culture is "Culture does good". During 2011 Turku wants to show that culture increases wellbeing in many ways - it improves individuals’ emotional and physical wellbeing, it strengthens and brings together communities. During 2011 the organizers prepared more than 155 projects, about 5000 events - the city will be visited by 50 artists from all over the world.
Another Finnish city, Helsinki have already been designated as the World Design Capital for 2012.
