The Sejm is currently working on the amendment to the Labour Code within the scope of supplementing the regulation connected with granting of the so-called „paternity leave”. The amendment to the act consists in adding to the currently existing provision a norm, on the basis of which also fathers who have adopted children will be able to take paternity leaves. The length of the paternity leave will amount to 1 week in 2011.
If the act is accepted, the new provisions will come into force from January 1, 2011.
