On November 30 the government accepted a draft of amendments among others in the code of civil procedure concerning application of the ordinance of the European Parliament and Council no. 4/2009 on jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition and enforcement of decisions and cooperation in matters relating to maintenance obligations. The new provisions, together with the abovementioned ordinance, will facilitate and speed up the pursuance and enforcement of the alimony claims from abroad within the territory of the European Union, wile ensuring the necessary protection to the alimony debtors.
The government plans that the amendments will become valid from June 2011.
