On November 9, 2010 changes to the Tax Ordinance came into force. The changes refer i.a. to an increase of the percentage rate of interest due for tax arrears. Presently, the tax interest rate is 200% of the basic reference rate for Lombard loans as set by the National Bank of Poland. From November 9, the rate for delay in tax dues is 200% of the basic reference rate for Lombard loans increased by 2%. Moreover, the change stipulates that the rate cannot be lower than 8%. Consequently, from November 9, 2010 the tax interest rate has been increased by 2%.
