The Ministry of Finance has published a draft of a new decree which is to regulate issuing and forwarding invoices electronically. The new decree is to liberalise the present standards for sending and storing e-invoices so that they become a real alternative for paper invoices. Contrary to the decree which is in force now, the draft i.a. cancels the obligation to use special technologies for forwarding e-invoices. It will be possible to send an e-invoice in any electronic format provided that the authenticity of origin and the integrity of invoice’s contents are ensured. The Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) as well as the so-called electronic signature will no longer be the only and obligatory methods of ensuring the authenticity of origin and the integrity of e-invoices’ contents.
