In 2011 Poland will take over the chairmanship in the European Union Council for half a year. Pursuant to the Polish Minister of Justice one of the priorities of the Polish presidency in the European Union will be introduction of certain solutions to the European private law, which will improve the protection of customers’ interests, in particular when it comes to buying goods on-line. The proposition of the Polish Minister of Justice is to consist in introduction of a system which would be unified, convenient for customers and safe for trading and which at the same time would regulate the conditions and effects of sale in the internet, while being binding for the whole European Union.
Currently some of the transactions in the internet where the seller and the buyer come from different EU countries are not executed among others because of differences between the national regulations and customers’ problems with enforcing claims in case of defects of products bought abroad.
