On May 20, 2010 the first reading of the draft act on amendment to the Civil Code took place in the Sejm. The subject of the proposed changes is introduction to the Polish law of the so-called debt recovery provision. It is one of the forms of disposing of a given thing in case of death. In accordance with the draft act the bequeather will be able to decide in the last will drawn up before a notary public that a given thing or right should be assigned to the particular person, to such effect that after the bequeather’s death this thing will automatically pass to the indicated person. Until now the provision in the last will have resulted only in the obligation of heirs to issue the given object to the person indicated in the last will.
