At the end of April the Parliament adopted a change to the Act on Tourist Services. The change introduced among other things facilitations in conducting activity by tourism organizers and agents through abolition of the requirement to ensure that the enterprise or its branch is managed by a person who fulfills particular requirements when it comes to education, practice and criminal record.
What is more, in accordance with the new wording of the Act, the possibility to offer tourism services by foreign tourism entrepreneurs through tourism agents is to be dependent on their having a branch in Poland. The obligation of having a branch in Poland does not apply among others to foreign entrepreneurs who have their seat within the territory of a member state of the EU or a country which is a member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
The change is waiting for the signature of the President and is to become binding after 3 months from its announcement.
