On March 12, 2010 new legislation came into force which amends the Act on Waste. The Act adjusts Polish provisions to the EU law, including the Council Directive no. 1999/31/EC on the landfill of waste.

Moreover, the Act introduces certain facilitations in waste management. The new legislation enables i.a. to have one administrative decision issued to approve the waste management programme for a party generating waste valid all over the country.

The change to the Act should make it easier to conduct business for entrepreneurs who provide services related to construction, demolition, building renovation, cleaning of containers or equipment, cleaning services, maintenance and repairs.
