Closer to prohibition of smoking in public places in Poland

26-02-2010

Recently there has been a heated debate in Sejm over the draft legislation to the Act on Health Protection against Consequences of Tobacco Using. The draft was returned to the Health Commission for further discussions.

The proposed change is to increase the number of public places in Poland where smoking would be prohibited – in fact, most of public places would be smoke-free (i.a. bars, restaurants, discos, workplace, transportation means or sport facilities) - and to introduce a ban on advertisement and promotion of tobacco products.
