On January 26, 2009 the President of the Republic of Poland signed the act of January 9, 2009 amending “Civil Procedure Code” and other acts. The signed act introduces to the Civil Procedure Code an additional section titled “Electronic proceedings”.

Electronic legal proceedings by writ of payment, based on a plaintiff’s statement, are to facilitate the pursuance of financial claims in petty matters (e.g. outstanding bills for electricity, phone, gas, etc.). The provisions will come into force on January 1, 2010.
