On March 31, 2009, provisions will come into force which amend the Act on Freedom of Economic Activity with respect to, among other things, the suspension of economic activity. Presently, entrepreneurs who do not have employees may suspend economic activity for a period of from one to 24 months. This right is vested both in individuals conducting economic activity as well as in entrepreneurs with a legal personality.

In accordance with the amendment, the period of suspension of economic activity should be defined more precisely and will start on a day specified in a motion, however not earlier than on the day of filing the motion.
