Large-format advertising billboards and banners placed on buildings have become nuisance for dwellers of many Polish cities. Most of all, the dwellers complain about the billboards and banners covering their windows and obstructing the sunlight.

The Ministry of Infrastructure has prepared an amendment to the decree on technical conditions of buildings. The new provisions forbid advertising billboards or banners on multifamily dwelling houses where they limit flats’ lighting during the day. The billboards and banners will be allowed to be placed on the windowless walls. It is worth mentioning that the new provisions do not pose limitations for placing advertisements on office buildings, hotels, and detached houses.
