The Senate proposed that the Sejm should adopt an amendment to the Civil Code which would introduce the institution of “donation in the event of death”. If the amendment comes into force, it will be possible not only to dispose of one’s assets in the event of death in a will, but also by way of a donation agreement which will result in that after the donor’s death the particular component of his/her assets will be transferred to the recipient. The changes in question are aimed at making it possible to dispose of particular components of the assets. It is anticipated that the act will come into force next year.
