Nordic Focus Festival in Gdańsk will inspire discussion on the image of the Nordic community depicted in literature, films and TV series. Participants will look into the culture and life in the North and consider whether that reality influences the population of the rest of the world.
Danish writer and director Daniel Dencik will be one of the main guests of the festival. His movie “Expedition to the End of The World” will officially open the festival, after which he will take part in a discussion panel Ultima Thule. Culture at the Outskirts of the North together with Agata Lubowicka, PhD, Professor Maria SibiĹ„ska, Danish writer Lisbeth Nebelong and travel blogger Piotr MikoĹ‚ajczak. Daniel will also take part in a Q&A session the next day, where his other movie, Moon Rider, will be screened as well.
Daniel Dencik (born 1972)- a Danish writer, movie director and editor. He has received various film prizes and grants, i.a. festival award at Jerusalem Film Festival and nomination for Robert Award for the best film montage. Dencik debuted as a documentary director in 2012 with “Moon Rider” and as a feature film director in 2015 with “Guldkysten”.
Another Danish segment in the program is a presentation on Danish culture by Danish Cultural Institute’s interns Amanda Laasholdt and Adnan Tajić.
