A good mix of Scandinavian jazz and Polish musical tradition will be featured at this year's Copenhagen Jazz Festival. TOM Trio, K.R.A.N., Radek Woskos Atlantic Quartet and Maciej Kadziela’s Taste of the World will play on July 10th and 11th. The program will include a concert inspired by the music of Polish composer Krzysztof Komeda, accompanied by a screening of a Danish film directed by Henning Carlsen and live VJ (Sven Dam Meinild).
It was in the Danish music conservatories where the musicians met and formed bands, and now tour in Denmark and Poland, release albums and win musical awards. Mutual inspiration, excellent cooperation and long-lasting friendships will be in focus when these young Polish-Danish jazz ensembles will be on stage.
Several other great young Polish-Danish jazz bands consisting of former or current students of Danish music conservatories, will also play during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival (7-16. July): Tomo Jacobson, Artur Tuźnik, Szymon Pimpon Gąsiorek, Jędrzej Łagodzinski, Malwina Kołodziejczyk, Andrzej Jarosiński, Mariusz Praśniewski, Marek Konarski, Brian Massaka.
