Tele2 Polska, a subsidiary of Swedish Tele2, wants to offer its subscriber services to every tenth individual client in Poland.
“We hope that 80 percent of our today’s clients will choose the subscription offer within two years. We have 1m clients, so 800,000 will pay subscription. This is one tenth of the market”, Piotr Nestorowicz, Tele2 CEO said.
Since January 2nd, Tele2 clients pay subscription which is 15 percent cheaper than the one offered by TP, the monopoly telecommunication giant. The market has been liberalized and the monopoly has to let the other operators use its network. Tele2 buys the subscription from TP at wholesale prices and sells them to its clients. So far, 70,000 people have subscribed at Tele2. Till the end of January, over 100,000 applications should be implemented. There are over 130,000 applications already. The following telecoms want to buy the service from TP: GTS Energis, Telefonia Dialog, Polkomtel, and others.
