The festival will run until March 22 and will end with a concert of Scandinavian music, performed by PĹ‚ock Symphony Orchestra.
The "Northern Lights Festival" is a social initiative of people fascinated by far North, addressed to children, young people and the local community.. The festival is a continuation of educational and artistic activities for children and young people, dedicated to Scandinavia. In recent years, these projects included: "Heaven in Colour - Meeting with the aurora borealis" (2010) and "Saamowie - indigenous people of Northern Europe" (2011/12).
The aim of the project is to stimulate interest in children and youth phenomenon aurora borealis and expand their knowledge on this topic, learn the legends, myths, fairy tales and stories about the Aurora Borealis, and get information about the geography and nature areas located outside the European Arctic Circle, especially the Swedish Lapland .
The project includes a number of projects carried out from December 2012 to March 2013
